Advierten que el pico actual de bronquiolitis es grave
El ministro de Salud de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, Nicolás Kreplak, advirtió hoy que el pico de bronquiolitis que estamos atravesando “es grave” por dos motivos: llegó antes de lo esperado y con una gran cantidad de casos, un fenómeno que ya ocurrió en la pospandemia tanto en países del hemisferio norte como en otros de Latinoamérica.
Por eso, y por la complejidad que puede desencadenar esta enfermedad en menores de dos años, el titular de la cartera sanitaria recomendó que los adultos y las adultas responsables de niños y niñas consulten al centro de salud más cercano si observan síntomas de dificultad respiratoria en los más chicos.
“La situación actual del pico de casos de bronquiolitis es grave, porque llega con muchos casos y varias semanas adelantando. No pasa solamente en la Provincia, ya pasó en el hemisferio norte y ya lo empezamos a ver en nuestro país”, aclaró el Ministro en su cuenta de Twitter (https://twitter.com/nkreplak/status/1662874923507777542?s=46) y en declaraciones radiales. Y detalló que para la semana epidemiológica 19, que este año coincidió con la segunda de mayo, los casos ya estaban por encima de la semana epidemiológica 27 del año pasado, que corresponde a la primera semana de julio en el calendario.
Kreplak explicó en la red social y en declaraciones radiales que si se analiza la situación por edades “vemos que los casos en niños y niñas de 6 a 23 meses tuvieron un considerable incremento desde la primera semana de abril, muy adelantado para esta temporada”. La mayor incidencia de las Infecciones Respiratorias Agudas Bajas (IRAB) – dentro de las cuales se encuentra la bronquiolitis-, se explica por el desplazamiento que sufrieron los virus que las provocan en los años anteriores a raíz de la prevalencia del virus SARSCoV-2.
El ministro Kreplak dijo, a su vez, que este pico de casos se da en un contexto nacional de falta de pediatras. No obstante, recordó que en la Provincia de Buenos Aires, “reforzamos los hospitales, pusimos los servicios a disposición de esta situación y, además, lanzamos un plan de incentivo para que más profesionales se vuelquen a la pediatría”.

- Evitar contacto o reuniones con personas síntomas respiratorios
- Mantener una buena ventilación de los ambientes y evitar la presencia de humo de cigarrillo cerca de niños y niñas
- Mantener al día los esquemas de vacunación
- Promover la lactancia humana exclusiva durante los primeros seis meses de vida
