Berazategui se sumó a la Red Internacional de Municipios Hermanados por el Vidrio
Berazategui es la única ciudad fuera de Europa que se incorpora a la Red Internacional de Municipios Hermanados por el Vidrio. Este reconocimiento fue realizado por la Dra. Alicia Durán, coordinadora del Año Internacional del Vidrio e integrante del Instituto de Cerámica y Vidrio (ICV) del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) de España, mediante la entrega de una llave simbólica de vidrio al intendente Juan José Mussi, en el marco de su visita al Museo del Vidrio (MUVI) de Berazategui.
También participaron los secretarios municipales de Cultura y Educación, Federico López; y de Trabajo, Juan Manuel Parra; además de Nicolás Rendtorff, ceramista berazateguense oriundo de Ranelagh, coordinador argentino del Año Internacional del Vidrio 2022.
Al respecto, el intendente Mussi expresó: “Berazategui es reconocida en el exterior por su cultura del vidrio. La investigadora Alicia Durán nos entregó hoy la distinción “Municipios hermanados por el vidrio”, una iniciativa española que traspasó las fronteras y llegó a nuestra Patria Chica. Con una llave confeccionada con vidrio reciclado, distinguieron nuestra labor en este rubro, parte importante de la identidad berazateguense”.
En tanto, la Dra. Durán informó: “Venimos trabajando sin fronteras con el fin de que la gente sepa para qué sirve el vidrio y por qué hoy en día es sinónimo de sustentabilidad. Visité Berazategui para incorporar al distrito a la Red Internacional de Municipios Hermanados por el Vidrio, la primera ciudad fuera de Europa en sumarse. También, para pedirle al intendente Mussi que siga con su compromiso con el vidrio”.
El proyecto de la declaración de 2022 como el Año Internacional del Vidrio -aprobado por la Asamblea General de Naciones Unidas-, fue lanzado y presentado en 2019 por la International Comission on Glass (ICG), dirigida por Alicia Durán. Entre otras distinciones, ella fue presidenta de la Comisión Internacional del Vidrio de las Naciones Unidas y es actualmente la titular de la Comisión Nacional del Vidrio. Además, es profesora de Investigación del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas de España. Es Licenciada en Física por la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (Argentina) y PhD por la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
