Mussi participó de la misa homenaje al Monseñor Jorge Novak en la catedral de Quilmes
El sábado 8 de julio se realizó una misa en homenaje a monseñor Jorge Novak, en la Catedral quilmeña, a 22 años de su fallecimiento. El intendente de Berazategui, Juan José Mussi, participó de la ceremonia que fue encabezada por el obispo de Quilmes, monseñor Carlos Tissera.
“Entre las muchas enseñanzas que nos dejó el padre obispo Jorge Novak, sobresale su amor a la palabra de Dios. Fue un maestro de oración. Su ejemplo es muy oportuno en este momento crítico de la humanidad y de nuestro país, donde experimentamos sufrimiento y problemas que angustian”, expresó Tissera durante la misa.
El lema que animó el aniversario fue “Siervo de Dios Padre Obispo Jorge Novak: Derechos Humanos, Legado y Misión”. Luego de la misa, hubo un encuentro coral con la participación del Coro Estable de la Universidad de Quilmes y Coral de la Rosa.

Los inicios de Jorge Novak como obispo de la diócesis de Quilmes (Quilmes-Berazategui-Florencio Varela), donde fue titular desde su creación, coincidió con los primeros meses de la última dictadura militar. Fue de los pocos integrantes de la jerarquía católica argentina que denunció las violaciones de la dictadura y se mantuvo firme en la defensa de los derechos humanos. Falleció el 9 de julio de 2001.
