El comienzo de una nueva era: Milei asumió la presidencia y ratificó que habrá un duro ajuste y estanflación
En sus primeras palabras como primer mandatario, Javier Milei afirmó que su gobierno dará por “terminada una larga y triste historia de decadencia”, comenzando “el camino de reconstrucción” de la Argentina.
Javier Milei asumió este domingo 10 de diciembre la Presidencia de la Nación con un duro discurso en el que anunció que “comienza una nueva era en la Argentina” que dará por terminada “una larga y triste historia de decadencia y declive”, a la vez que subrayó que “no hay alternativa posible” a la de aplicar medidas de “ajuste” y “shock” que impactarán “de modo negativo sobre el nivel de actividad económica, empleo, salarios reales y cantidad de pobres e indigentes”.
“Sabemos que de corto plazo la situación empeorará, pero luego veremos los frutos de nuestro esfuerzo habiendo creado las bases de un crecimiento sólido y sostenible en el tiempo”, dijo Milei en un mensaje pronunciado al aire libre desde las escalinatas del Congreso, de cara a miles de personas que agitaron banderas argentinas.
Durante unos 35 minutos, que en su mayoría fueron dedicados a un análisis de la situación económica del país, Milei brindó su discurso tras la jura y la recepción de los atributos de mando en la Asamblea Legislativa que se desarrolló en el recinto de la Cámara de Diputados.
En su mensaje, detalló que “ningún gobierno ha recibido una herencia” económica “peor” de la que le tocará al suyo y destacó que la saliente gestión de Alberto Fernández dejó “plantada una inflación” potencial “de 52% mensual” y “15.000% anual”.
“Nos han dejado plantada una hiperinflación. Vamos a luchar con uñas y dientes para erradicarla. Vamos a hacer los máximos esfuerzos posibles para impedir esta catástrofe” que dejaría al “90% de la población en pobreza” y al “50%” de ella, en la indigencia, explicó.
Y agregó: “Hoy comienza una nueva era en la Argentina. El desafío que tenemos por delante es titánico”.
El discurso del nuevo presidente fue transmitido por cadena nacional y pronunciado desde las escalinatas del Congreso nacional, donde estuvo acompañado por la vicepresidenta Victoria Villarruel, sus funcionarios designados e integrantes de las delegaciones extranjeras, entre ellos el presidente de Ucrania, Volodimir Zelenski; los mandatarios sudamericanos Luis Lacalle Pou (Uruguay), Santiago Peña (Paraguay) y Gabriel Boric (Chile); y el Rey de España, Felipe VI.
Antes de ello, Milei recibió los atributos de presidente en el recinto parlamentario y ante la Asamblea Legislativa constituida para ese motivo. Lo hizo de manos de Alberto Fernández y Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.
En su discurso, pronunciado de cara a sus seguidores, que se ubicaron sobre la Plaza del Congreso, el flamante mandatario sostuvo que los argentinos deberán afrontar un período de estanflación, la combinación entre altos niveles de inflación y caída de la actividad económica. “Tengo que decírselos de nuevo: no hay plata”, sentenció.
El ajuste que pondrá en marcha, según advirtió, “impactará de modo negativo sobre el nivel de actividad, empleo, salarios reales y cantidad de pobres e indigentes”, aunque prometió que, “a diferencia del pasado, caerá casi totalmente sobre el Estado y no sobre el sector privado”.
“En estos días mucho se ha hablado de la herencia que vamos a recibir. Dejen que sea muy claro en esto: ningún gobierno ha recibido una herencia peor que la que estamos recibiendo nosotros. El kirchnerismo, que en sus inicios se jactaba de tener superávit gemelos -esto es superávit fiscal y externo- hoy nos deja déficit gemelos por 17% del PBI (Producto Bruto Interno)”, resaltó.
Milei reiteró que el escenario económico de “estanflación” que vivirá la Argentina “no es algo muy distinto a lo que pasó en los últimos 12 años, cuando el PBI per cápita cayó 15% en un contexto donde acumulamos 5.000% de inflación”.
En materia social, refirió Milei, el país que recibe tiene a la mitad de la población en la pobreza y “con el tejido social completamente roto. Más de 20 millones de argentinos no pueden vivir una vida digna porque son presos de un sistema que lo único que genera es más pobreza”, evaluó.
Además, cuestionó la política sanitaria implementada para enfrentar a la pandemia de Covid-19, un momento en el que, opinó, “si los argentinos hubiéramos hecho las cosas como la media de los países del mundo, hubiéramos tenido 30,000 muertos. Gracias al ‘Estado que te cuida’ y su ineficiencia, 130,000 argentinos perdieron la vida”, afirmó.
El nuevo jefe de Estado también se comprometió a luchar contra el delito, especialmente el narcotráfico en la ciudad santafesina de Rosario.
“El narcotráfico se apoderó de nuestras calles y las fuerzas de seguridad han sido humilladas y abandonadas” durante los últimos años. “Se acabó con el ‘siga, siga’ de los delincuentes”, advirtió.
Milei también señaló el “deterioro” educativo del país, donde “el 84% de nuestros chicos no termina la escuela en tiempo y forma” y, “a su vez, el 70% de los que sí terminan no puede resolver un problema de matemática o comprender un texto. Si se levantara (Domingo Faustino) Sarmiento y viera qué hicieron de la educación…”, dijo con tono reflexivo.
Sarmiento no fue el único expresidente que Milei mencionó en su discurso; en otro tramo, citó “una frase sobresaliente” de quien consideró “uno de los mejores presidentes de la historia argentina, Julio Argentino Roca: ‘Nada grande, nada estable y duradero se conquista en el mundo cuando se trata de la libertad de los hombres y del engrandecimiento de los pueblos, si no es a costa de supremos esfuerzos y dolorosos sacrificios'”.
Sin embargo, no hizo referencia al período de 40 años de democracia ininterrumpidos que se celebran este domingo en recuerdo de la asunción de Raúl Alfonsín tras la dictadura cívico militar que gobernó entre 1976 y 1983.
“Milei, querido, el pueblo está contigo” y “Libertad, libertad”, cantaron los presentes en la Plaza del Congreso inclusive cuando Milei anunció la puesta en marcha de fuertes medidas de “ajuste”.
Pese a eso, Milei mencionó que sus medidas al frente del gobierno tienen éxito, será “el último mal trago” que soportará la sociedad antes de “comenzar la reconstrucción de la Argentina. Habrá luz al final del camino”, prometió.
