Con la presencia del gobernador bonaerense, Axel Kicillof, Alejandro Granados cedió a su hijo Gastón el bastón de mando del municipio de Ezeiza. Fue precisamente, Kicillof quien tomó el juramento a Granados en una ceremonia que tuvo lugar en el Teatro Municipal del distrito aeroportuario.
“Hoy es un día muy especial para mí. Especial porque finalizó su mandato el mejor intendente de toda la provincia, mi viejo, Alejandro Granados; y especial porque asumí formalmente el cargo de Intendente Municipal de Ezeiza”, posteó el nuevo jefe comunal.

Además de Kicillof estuvieron presentes, entre otros, el designado ministro de Gobierno bonaerense Carlos Bianco; el vicegobernador de Tucumán y ex jefe de Gabinete Juan Manzur, los jefes comunales de La Matanza, La Plata, Cañuelas, Quilmes y Morón, Fernando Espinosa, Julio Alak, Gustavo Arrieta, Mayra Mendoza y Lucas Ghi; el rector de la Universidad Nacional de Lomas de Zamora, Diego Molea; el titular de la Unión Industria de la provincia, Martín Rapallini; y los sindicalistas de los docentes y de camioneros, Roberto Baradel y Hugo Moyano.

El intendente también agradeció a la titular del Deliberante de Ezeiza y esposa de su padre, Dulce Granados con quien mantuvo una competencia por la jefatura comunal: “Me comprometo a trabajar, trabajar y trabajar, lo voy a hacer junto a nuestra querida Dulce y todos los que compartimos el mismo amor por nuestro lugar”.
Gastón Granados se consagró tras haber ganado las elecciones del 22 de octubre con el 60,2% de los votos. Anteriormente fue jefe de Gabinete municipal, intendente interino durante las licencias de su padre y titular de Tristán Suárez, equipo que milita en la Primera Nacional y que, ahora, preside Alejandro Granados.
